[How to] Change the Default Paths in LibreOffice 4.0 in LinuxMint 14

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu ‘alaykum for Muslim readers.

Today post is about how could we change the default paths in LibreOffice 4.0, in LinuxMint 14. Previously, so many people noticed that they, including me, were unable to change LibreOffice (version 3.6 which is pre-installed by default) paths (including Documents, Pictures, Templates, etc.) in Ubuntu 12.10 and LinuxMint 14. Attempt to change these through the usual way: ‘Tools | Options | Paths’ menu, then change each option; would do nothing.

But Alhamdu lillah!, by now, I found an interesting way to change those paths. Before changing those path manually, we have to do something like this:

  1. Go to ‘Tools | Options | General’
  2. Make the ‘Use LibreOffice dialogs’ in the ‘Open/Save dialogs’ checked.
  3. Click ‘OK’ button to apply the change.
Enabling the 'LibreOffice dialog' insya-a Allah will solve the problem.

And then, insya-a Allah, you will be able to change those paths we were talking about through the usual way like before the problem occured.

Hope to Allah this post will be useful.
